My Outlook PST files (30+GB) were still accessible but running off a hard-drive that had started to fail with bad sectors. I was unable to clone the drive or copy the PST files to a new location. Recovery toolbox was able to rebuild my data files as a new data file on a replacement drive location and continue to use my mail file after the recovery process. Tried many other recommended solutions but none were able to help with the recovery apart from the recovery toolbox for outlook. Try to recover your data to separate files, it may help.

Optionally, you can try to recover additional repaired items from the backup personal folder. You can use the Inbox Repair Tool (scanpst.exe) to repair corrupted Personal Folders (.pst) and Outlook Data (.ost) files. This is useful when your OST file is relatively big (more than 5 GB) and it would take a long time to recreate it. Also, it can be useful when you are getting errors when importing data from a PST file.

This issue occurs because Outlook cannot open the Forms Library. This issue can occur for Outlook on all Microsoft 365 Office channels. The emerging cases for this issue are on virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). This is quite annoying and you’re certainly not alone. This should resolve the issue with Microsoft Outlook crashing.

Once the PST file is repaired, you can import the repaired PST file into a new or existing Outlook profile to restore and access all mail items. In the Folder Pane, you might see a folder named Recovered Personal Folders that contains your default Outlook folders or a Lost and Found folder. Although the repair process might recreate some of the folders, they may be empty. The Lost and Found folder contains any folders and items recovered by the Fix Outlook troubleshooting hub repair tool that Outlook can't place in their original structure.
