We are aware that some users may not be able to receive email from Gmail accounts. Although it's not possible at the moment to turn the feature off entirely, you can choose to remove it from your favorites list by right clicking the folder and selecting Remove from homepage Favorites. This issue has been fixed for Outlook.com country domains.

Note that you can quickly tell how your mail is currently sorted, by the presence of a small triangle on the field headers. Another options is to use the Filter Email button on the ribbon. You may notice that All, Unread , Mentioned homepage and other sort and filtering options, such as By date, and Newest are missing in Outlook above your email list.
